How Empower Consulting Supports Main Contractors

Main contractors working in social housing face a challenge that doesn't get talked about enough. The programmes are there, the funding is committed and the compliance requirements are clear. But finding enough accredited, pre-vetted trades to actually deliver them on time and to budget is a different problem altogether.

That is exactly the gap Empower Consulting was set up to fill.

What we do

Empower Consulting is a specialist introducer business working exclusively in the social housing sector. We connect main contractors with pre-vetted, accredited subcontractors across all trades, covering planned maintenance, kitchen and bathroom programmes, refurbishment, voids, reactive repairs and electrical safety works.

Our network of subcontractors is already accredited, already compliant and already working in social housing. When a main contractor needs additional capacity, whether that is at the planning stage or mid-programme, we make the introduction quickly and without fuss.

There is no cost to the main contractor whatsoever. Our service is completely free to the contractors we work with.

How it works

We work with subcontractors across the UK who are looking to access social housing programmes with Tier 1 contractors. Each subcontractor we work with goes through a thorough vetting process to make sure they hold the right accreditations, have the right compliance documentation in place and are genuinely ready to mobilise.

When a main contractor has a delivery gap or is planning ahead for an upcoming programme, we match them with the right subcontractor for the work, the location and the client. We make the introduction, the contractor takes it from there and the relationship is theirs to develop.

We work across some of the largest Tier 1 social housing contractors in the country, supporting programmes covering kitchen and bathroom refurbishment, voids and repairs, planned maintenance, fire stopping, electrical safety compliance and much more.

Why it matters right now

The social housing sector is in the middle of a period of sustained investment. The Government's £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme, the new Decent Homes Standard, new electrical safety requirements and rising spend on repairs and maintenance are all driving significant demand for trades across the sector.

At the same time, the supply of accredited, compliance-ready subcontractors is under real pressure. Contractors who get ahead of this by building the right supply chain relationships now will be the ones who deliver programmes on time and retain long term client relationships.

Empower Consulting exists to help main contractors do exactly that.
